Sunday Gathering

The Wellington Methodist Parish community gathers every Sunday.

Various services are held at Wesley Church, 75 Taranaki Street, beginning with an English-language service at 10am. The '10am Congregation' is generally progressive in its outlook. Worship draws on a range of influences, and generally in the liturgical format.

We value participatory worship at Wesley Church. Lay people are involved in the worship every Sunday and are responsible for such things as the readings, the intercessory prayers, and, sometimes, the reflection.

Services are also held in the Tongan, Samoan and Fijian laungages and details can be found as follows;
Tongan Congregation
Samoan Congregation
Fijian Congregation

All three of our Pasifika congregations run a Sunday School in conjunction with their Sunday worship.

Prior to the Covid-19 restrictions, on a first Sunday all the Wesley Church congregations gathered together for a combined service of Holy Communion, starting at 10am. These services have resumed but not every first Sunday of each month. All are welcome to join in communion, regardless of your religious background. This Parish service is followed by a shared meal in the hall.

We also have a Tongan language service at St. Luke's Church, Haunui Road, Pukerua Bay.
